  • Abstract in English: The problematic aspects of the book address the social reality which lies at the crossroads of rehabilitative pedagogy and criminology. The book itself at-tempts to verify the assumptions of the resocialization process with the life experiences of people who commit crimes. The research sets and describes the manner of understanding the process of social readaptation by people who have been removed from society due to their crimes. This research addresses the following question: how do imprisoned men understand the process of adaptation to living in society again? The goal of such a delineated strategy was to lay down the biographical models of the social (re)adaptation of the examined people, helping to focus upon contemporary challenges for the cor-rective practice of the convicts. Our starting point is a presentation of the chosen concepts and rehabilita-tive theories which is intended to confront the present knowledge on reha-bilitative methodology with biographical narrations. The qualitative examina-tions make it possible to depict and describe the criminal derailing phases of the convicts. This process was presented as trajectories illustrating its pro-cessual nature and individuality. The outlined trajectories illustrate not only the respective stages of a criminal derailment, but also show the relations between important events in the lives of the examined persons and their readapta tion to social life. The research procedures outlined as such help lead to our conclusions. Structural analysis of narration renders visible the bio-graphical anchoring of the experiences shown in the experience trajectories as well as their meaning for the processes of social readaptation. The research has shown that, through looking at the readaption process from a biographi-cal view, it is easier to understand the experiences of the authors of the ana-lyzed narrations obtained over the course of adapting to living outside the prison system. The end effects of the research are a number of pedagogical implica-tions relating to the planning and character of pedagogical support which is provided to convicts leading to their socialization and social readaptation. We hope that these implications will find their application in current readap-tation programs, or in the improvement of already existing ones.
