  • Abstrakt: During the activity of the Interim Treasury Committee for Polish Questions from 7 July 1945 to 31 March 1947, several thousand Polish citizens were given the opportunity to study abroad. Despite their difficult financial situation, they strove to continue studying, where this had been disrupted before the war, or started studying anew. Such an effort was visible particularly among the young Poles in Great Britain who initially had served in the 2nd Corps in Italy, stayed in camps for war prisoners in Germany and Austria or happened to arrive in other European countries and the Middle East. The Educational Branch of ITC struggled to provide candidates for university education with places at universities and disappearing Polish university departments in Great Britain, and supported them financially. That task was successful and consequently the number of Polish students abroad increased.
