  • 020 $a Jerome of Prague, who died burnt on a stake in Constance in 1416 even before his actual death became a symbol of martyrdom for the followers of the Czech reform movement. However, he was always seen in the shadow of John Hus, who preceded him not only chronologically in martyrdom, but also with his own significance. The aim of the article is to show how Jerome of Prague was shown by the Hussites, both in their inner discussions and in the polemics with opponents. The role of the second one, as preserved in the primary sources, comes with particular characteristics of the person and his case.
