  • Abstrakt w j. angielskim: The article is part of a multifaceted reflection on the process of developing an integral personality of young people living outside their family home in Krakow. It presents the attitudes and expectations of parents towards this new educational environment. It aims to answer the following questions: What are the expectations of parents in terms of the care and educational activities undertaken in the dormitory and what are the conditions for building mature relationships in the dormitory. The presented problem was solved on the basis of comparing the literature on the subject with the common thinking about the educational function of the studied group of parents. It concerned checking and showing whether the parents were ready for educational cooperation, or whether we are dealing with an overly demanding attitude on their part. The research is significant because parents who are applying for a place in the dormitory for their children are informed about the principles and ideals guided by the educators.
