  • Abstrakt: The article is an attempt to highlight contemporary food trends basedon the idea of a communal table. The main focus of the study was theso-called “socialized meals”, a popular contemporary activity, shapedby historical transformations and cultural changes. Through theanalysis of individual sources, the concept of the common table wasdefined, the genesis of supper clubs was described, and the how to eaton the internet were characterized. The trends presented showedthat, despite the dynamization of life, sitting down at one table andcelebrating meals is still an important (socially and culturally) activi-ty. Today’s consumption is justified not only by the need to satisfyhunger, but also by the desire to belong and build lasting relation-ships. As a result, a new but all-too-familiar lifestyle of social eating isbeing born, and food is beginning to be treated as a binding factorbetween people.
