    • Tematem artykułu są początki tworzenia i funkcjonowania Ochotniczej Straży Pożarnej w Kiczorach – obecnie najmłodszej i jednej z najmniejszych góralskich wiosek leżących w polskiej części Orawy. Zawarto tutaj także informacje o funkcjonowaniu straży pożarnych w Polsce oraz krótki opis wsi Kiczory z uwzględnieniem ważnych osób wywodzących się z tej miejscowości. Sedno artykułu poświęcono I Komendantowi OSP w Kiczorach, a także pozostałym „Ojcom Założycielom” OSP w tymże sołectwie ówczesnej wsi Lipnicy Wielkiej. Opracowanie przygotowano na podstawie wywiadów przeprowadzonych z członkami społeczności Kiczor. Dowiedziono, że OSP w Kiczorach od swego powstania w 1961 roku pełniło jedną z podstawowych kulturotwórczych ról w życiu społecznym wsi.
    • The subject of the article is the beginnings of the creation and functioning of the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Kiczory – currently the youngest and one of the smallest highlander villages located in the Polish part of Orava. It also contains information about the functioning of fire brigades in Poland and a short description of the village of Kiczory, including important people from this village. The core of the article is devoted to the First Commander of the Voluntary Fire Service in Kiczory, as well as the other „Founding Fathers” of the Voluntary Fire Service in the same village of Lipnica Wielka at that time. The study was prepared based on interviews conducted with members of the Kiczory community. It has been proven that since its establishment in 1961, the Voluntary Fire Service in Kiczory has played one of the basic culture-forming roles in the social life of the village.
