- Abstrakt: PurposeThis study aims to offer a model solution for the educational ecosystem transformation to enable entrepreneurial responses to contemporary environmental challenges.Design/methodology/approachThe research applies the grounded theory, the process-based approach, comparative analysis, data analysis, systematised literature review and the Quadruple Helix Model.FindingsThe “progressive” character and content in the Model are defined by the pedagogical approaches and purposes of entrepreneurial education instead of its association with a formal level of education, as it has been done so far. Among the findings are re-defined social entrepreneurship, specified teaching topics and pedagogical approaches supportive of social entrepreneurship competencies development.Research limitations/implicationsIn the light of further data and information, the future improvement of the model could well bring about the extension of some of its composite elements in the educational “input” and “output” dimensions.Practical implicationsAn advantage of the proposed model can be drawn from its applicability as guidelines for the composition of social entrepreneurship content within academic courses.Originality/valueThe value of research findings is associated with the fact that social entrepreneurship remains an underdeveloped subject area, while we observe the urgent need, reinforced by the sustainability crisis, to build systemic change around social entrepreneurship to facilitate sustainable development.
