  • Abstrakt w j. angielskim: The chapter is divided into four parts. The first presents the concepts of ‘imperism’ and ‘nomos of empire.’ The second discusses the recent history of the Russian Orthodox Church. The chapter addresses the Russian Orthodox Church’s political role and attitudes during Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev’s perestroika and discuss internal cleavages between emerging wings of reformists and traditionalists (fundamentalists). The chapter’s third section explores the Russian Orthodox Church’s contribution to the development of the Russkij mir pan-(Russian World) ideology. The final part describes the synergy between the Russian Orthodox Church’s social teaching and the progressive fascisation of Russia’s social life and political system. Through these four sections, the chapter demonstrates how the Russian Orthodox Church has long developed a social doctrine that prepared the Church to become an ideological stronghold for Putin’s dictatorship and fascist regime.
