  • Abstract in English: The aim of the article is to show the potential to utilize autoethnography in the study of the sacred experiences of man, something that is the farthest scientific knowledge because it is both elusive and imperceptible, and yet closest to the subject. It is about talking about one’s own experiences regarding personal relations with nature, oneself, with other people, and with God. These cognitive fields are also a challenge to dialogue with oneself (intrapersonal level) and other people (interpersonal level). In this article, its author refers to the concept of the sacred science and “sacred experiences” of Reason’s (secular concept) and Wincenty Granat’s “integral personalism” (Catholic concept) to show the full potential of the applications of autoethnography in the study of personal experiences. In their concepts, the authors do not refer to the aforementioned research method, but their outlooks may constitute an important theoretical basis for considerations on the legitimacy and potential of studying the sacred experiences of man. The author of the article devotes the most attention to the concept of Reason’s, because its main assumptions are essentially consistent with autoethnographic research, and moreover, it has not been described in Polish literature so far. The first problem of the article is the question of how the concepts presented here can be used to anchor autoethnography in the study of sacred human experiences. Internal experiences and reflections, including those concerning religion, are often neglected research areas in social sciences. One way to study them is through autoethnography – a method based on self-narrative. Hence, the second problem relates to finding an answer to the question of how autoethnography shapes dialogue skills at the intrapersonal and interpersonal levels, the background of which is relationships within the sacred experiences of a human being as a social and spiritual being. The research is qualitative in nature and is based on the analysis of Polish and English-language literature.
